Dr. Dominic S.Y. Lau, MSc, DDS
Dr. Dominic Lau has been passionate about helping people smile for as long as he can remember. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2011, completed a residency in New York, and returned to Toronto in 2012 to begin his journey in private practice. With more than 10 years of experience, he opened Sunrise Family Dental in Aurora in 2022.
Known for his calm, friendly approach and gentle touch, Dr. Lau has become a trusted provider for patients of all ages. He believes dental visits should feel relaxed, personal, and never intimidating. His ability to speak English, Cantonese, and Mandarin also helps him connect with a diverse community of patients and families.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Lau enjoys travelling, golfing, and playing chess. His thoughtful, approachable personality is a big part of what makes patients feel at ease in his care.
Elissa Romeo
With over 13 years of experience, Elissa Romeo is passionate about helping patients maintain healthy, confident smiles. She is known for her gentle touch, warm personality, and ability to make hygiene visits feel positive and comfortable, especially for patients who may feel nervous in the chair.
Elissa believes strong dental care starts with trust and connection. She takes pride in building lasting relationships with patients, answering questions with care, and making oral health feel approachable and achievable for every stage of life. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her young son, and their dog Bruno.
Wayne Jiang
Wayne Jiang is a registered dental hygienist with over 8 years of clinical experience providing comprehensive preventive oral health care. Patients appreciate his calm, gentle, and patient-focused approach, which helps create a comfortable experience while still delivering thorough, high-quality care.
Wayne places strong emphasis on education, prevention, and individualized support. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, he is able to communicate clearly with a wide range of patients and help make oral health care easier to understand and maintain. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys spending time with family and staying active through snowboarding.
Catherine Chow
Catherine Chow brings organization, attention to detail, and a calm, confident presence to her role as Office Manager. With experience in the dental field, she understands how to keep a busy practice running efficiently while maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere for both patients and staff.
From coordinating schedules to supporting day-to-day operations, Catherine helps ensure every part of the patient experience feels seamless. Her warm and professional approach contributes to the friendly environment patients experience throughout the office. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, snowboarding, and spending time with her dog and four cats.
Homa Mohiby
With over 15 years of experience as a Level II Dental Assistant, Homa Mohiby brings both skill and compassion to patient care. Her calm, nurturing nature helps patients feel safe, supported, and comfortable, whether they are visiting for a simple procedure or feeling anxious about treatment.
Homa is especially appreciated for her gentle approach and her ability to connect with patients on a personal level.
